5.12 Autobiopictorial persons
Some of us make pictures about ourselves and organize our experiences in images. Autobiopictory is the act of painting (pictory) the life (bio) of oneself (auto). Autobiopictorial persons are persons who use designs as their primary means of making sense of the world.
Read selections from Temple Grandin's work, an autobiography in which the author argues that she does not think in words and narratives but in pictures. If Grandin were incapable of writing autobiography--as she clearly is not--would she be a pure case of an autobiopictorial person?
